Kingmoor Park sponsors EdenFest26 in Carlisle

Kingmoor Park was proud to sponsor EdenFest26, Carlisle’s new family music festival, which welcomed around 1,600 people to Carlisle Cricket Club on Saturday 19 September. The first event brought together live music, entertainment for children and fundraising for four local causes.

Practical support from the Kingmoor Park team

Our involvement went beyond sponsorship. Members of the Kingmoor Park maintenance team volunteered their time to help set up the event, lending practical support as the organisers prepared to welcome festivalgoers. We also offered complimentary wristbands to businesses based at Kingmoor Park, giving tenants the chance to enjoy the festival.

It was rewarding to see a new event for Carlisle take shape and to play a hands-on part in making it happen. We are especially proud of our maintenance colleagues for giving their time alongside the many other volunteers who worked behind the scenes.

Throughout the day, visitors enjoyed performances from local bands Stonevale and The Omelette Project, alongside tributes to Lady Gaga, Teddy Swims and Freddie Mercury. DJ Ki Creighton, food and drink, and activities for children added to the atmosphere. Carlisle-based Explosive Productions provided the stage, lighting and sound, helping turn the cricket club grounds into a festival venue.

The organisers’ hard work paid off. Festivalgoers gave positive feedback, particularly about the family-friendly feel of the day, and plans are already in place for EdenFest to return next year.

Fundraising for four local causes

The News & Star reported that the first EdenFest is expected to raise around £6,500. The funds are intended to support four organisations working in and around Carlisle:

  • Carlisle Youth Zone
  • Hospice at Home Carlisle & North Lakeland
  • Carlisle United Community Sports Trust
  • Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice

Together, these organisations provide opportunities for young people, support through sport, and care for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families. The festival gave people an enjoyable day out while raising money for work that matters locally.

Congratulations to everyone involved

Putting on a festival of this size takes months of planning and considerable effort on the day. Congratulations to organisers Ian Milburn and Steph for bringing their idea to life, and to Carlisle Cricket Club for hosting it. Thank you to the performers, volunteers, production crew, traders and everyone else who helped make the first EdenFest a success.

We were delighted to stand alongside headline sponsor David Allen and the other local businesses who backed the event. Sponsoring the festival and helping with its setup gave Kingmoor Park two ways to contribute, and we are grateful to our maintenance team for representing us so well.

EdenFest is set to return to Carlisle Cricket Club on 18 September 2027. We look forward to seeing it grow and continue its support for these four causes.
